Anynode is a Session Border Controller (SBC) from TE-Systems. In simple terms, an SBC connects two different VoIP networks. Anynode SBC is a software based SBC that can run on either Windows or Linux. Anynode can be used to connect two physically different networks or even to secure a non-secure network for VoIP traffic.
At Kirbi Solutions, our primary use for Anynode is to provide direct routing into Microsoft Teams for adding Phone functionality to Microsoft Teams. Using an SBC is no longer required for PSTN calling with Microsoft Teams in Australia as Microsoft offer phone numbers and calling plans directly. However, for many organisations, having their own (controlled) Direct Routing solution can save considerable money when adding VoIP functionality to Microsoft Teams.
For a full list of features see the Anynode website
Licensing for Anynode is per session. You can think of a session as a concurrent call. If you need 15 concurrent calls in your environment, then you need a 15 session license for Anynode (as well as a SIP Trunk capable of 15 concurrent calls and phone numbers for your end users).
Kirbi Solutions are an Anynode Partner and can assist with licensing for Anynode and installation and configuration.
